Robert Charles Sharp, Jr., 75

ONEONTA – Robert Charles Sharp, Jr., 75, passed away at home and at peace on June 30, 2021.

He was born February 27, 1946 in Oneonta, the son of Robert Charles Sharp, Sr. and Mary Bridget O’Brien.

Bob married Antoinette Ester Bourne “Toni” at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Oneonta in September of 1964.

He was a contractor, stone masonry, partial proprietor of The Royal Grill, The Limit, Bojangles, and Groucho’s Taverns.  Bob was a member of the BPOE of Oneonta (Elks Club), Avid Hunters Club of Oneonta, Ducks Unlimited Organization, Polio Pioneer for the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, first national test of a trial Polio vaccine conducted in 1954.

He is survived by his children, Robert A. Sharp, Robin A. Sharp-Stauble, Monica L. Sharp Anderson-Lomangino, Michael Chapin and Erin Rocher; five grandchildren, Leanna Goodwin, Alexis Anderson, Mackenzie Stauble, Arianna Anderson, Nathaniel Stauble; his siblings, Phillip Harrigan, Cynthia Camerota, Barbara Sharp, Madelyn Cappello; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by siblings, Helen Claire Face and Thomas Harrigan.

Visitation will be 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.  Per Bob’s wishes a reception in celebration of his life will follow at the Copper Fox Tavern from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. with cocktails, finger foods and merriment.

Bob will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery’s columbarium at the convenience of the family.

In Memoriam Gerold D. Hill 1945-2023 FREDERICKSBURG, VA—Gerold D. Hill, 78, of Homosassa, Florida and formerly of Portlandville, New York, passed away on April 15, 2023 in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
