Southside Verizon Picketed

After 36,000 Workers Strike

The Communications Works of America set up a picket line in front of the Verizon store on Southside Oneonta today after 40,000 of the company's employees, members of the CWA and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, went on strike. They have been without a contract since last August. A key issue has reportedly be health-coverage givebacks being sought by the company.
