Co-Captain, Guard Led Team
To CCS’ 1st Class C State Title
COOPERSTOWN – The New York State Sportswriters Association today gave its Class C “Player of the Year” designation to Jack Lambert, the co-captain and star guard of the 2018-19 CCS Hawkeyes Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team.
A seventh-team selection last year, Lambert led Cooperstown to the school’s first Class C boys basketball championship.
The senior scored 24 points per game and set a new state tournament record by scoring 53 points in the Hawkeyes’ semifinal win over Greenport, syracuse.com recounted in a recap of the season.
Lambert was one of 39 players from Section III schools who received honors in Class B, C or D.
