The steering committee on Otsego County’s Strategic Prioritization Plan held its “kickoff meeting” this morning and scheduled three days of public conversations, Nov. 5, Nov. 10 and Nov. 13, to solicit inputs from town officials and the public on developing what chairman Rick Hulse, R-Fly Creek, termed the “value proposition” – collaboration between the county and its municipalities to make government more cost effective and efficient. During those three days, consultants from Laberge Engineering & Planning, Albany, will meet with highway superintendents, recreation directors and elected officials. The first two evenings, public meetings will be scheduled. The goal, said Laberge Vice President Ben Syden, is to make officials at all levels “partners in progress” for the county.
