The 102nd anniversary Springfield Fourth of July Parade grand marshals Keith and Janet McCarty of East Springfield, top photo, receive cheers from a crowd of thousands while riding up Main Street this morning in a horse-drawn surrey with a fringe on top, as they did on their wedding day in July 1979 at the East Springfield Congregational Church. Keith is the county rep from District 9 and Janet, a retired teacher, is a mainstay in Northern Otsego Relay for Life.
