SUNY requiring
all students
to be vaccinated

Staff Report • Special to www.AllOTSEGO.com

According to a SUNY document, all students statewide will be required to be fully vaccinated in order to attend in-person classes.

This requirement was pending the approval of the vaccine by the FDA, which it granted Sunday, Aug. 23, for the Pfizer vaccine.

A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after they receive all the shots for the vaccine.

Students will be expected to show proof of vaccination, according to the policy. They will have 35 days from the time the vaccine is approved to get vaccinated or show cause for an exemption.

The grace period does not include the required two weeks needed after vaccination completion.

The requirement only cover students.

There are limited exceptions to this requirement because of health or religious reasons.
