At his first local fundraiser, organized by the Town of Oneonta Republican Committee, Maj. Gen. (ret.) Anthony German of Oneonta, former commander of the New York State National Guard, met with supporters this evening at Carriage House on Southside Drive. “I am running based on the three core values I learned in the Air Force: Integrity, service before self, and excellence in what you do,” he said in remarks. German, a Republican, is challenging Congressman Antonio Delgado, D-19, in next year’s election. Meanwhile, he emphasized the importance of voting next Tuesday, when local and county races will be decided. “He is from here,” said Tom Armao, town GOP chairman. “He knows who we are and what we need.” (Ian Austin/AllOTSEGO.com)
