Close, but no cigar! Cooperstown’s Matt Schuermann, Scott Whiteman and Mike Niles playfully lament as Maegan Whiteman’s ball narrowly misses the 8th hole during the “Friends Helping Friends” golf tournament on Saturday. The tournament, which hosted around 145 golfers at the Colonial Ridge Golf Course, is to benefit Matthew Hazzard, Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce executive director, who is fighting non-Hodgkins lymphona. The day ended with a celebratory dinner at the Fly Creek Sportsmen’s Club. (Ian Austin/ allotsego.com)
