In Cooperstown Tallying

Voting officials Rick Jagels, left, and Ed Gwilt close up the machine used by Town of Otsego polling stations #1 and #2 at St. Mary’s Parish Hall in Cooperstown. Jagels, a Republican, and Gwilt, a Democrat, said 1,102 ballots were cast today, a turnout of 66 percent. They said normal voting in a mid-term is between 30 and 40 percent, about half today’s tally.
