This is a recent photo of Beverly L. Golembeski, 79, who went missing this afternoon near her Kortright home.

KORTRIGHT – A 79 year old women with dementia was reported missing earlier this evening by her husband, prompting State Police, Forest Rangers and other authorities to mount a search for her.

New York State Police at Stamford received a 911 call at approximately 5:52 p.m today that Beverly L. Golembeski, 79. was missing from a seasonal residence on Reed Road in the town of Kortright.

The call to 911 was made by Golembeski’s husband after he and a neighbor attempted to locate Golembeski, who left the residence between 3 and 3:30 p.m., possibly carrying a white 5-gallon bucket to collect wood.

ONEONTA – An Oneonta woman who was reported missing by her family was located by state troopers in Binghamton over the weekend.

According to a press release, troopers made contact by phone with Amanda Lee Chandler, 27, Oneonta, who was reported missing by her family on July 20. The trooper stayed on the line with her until a trooper in Binghamton was able to check on her. Troopers determined she was in good health and not in any danger.

PIERSTOWN – The elderly woman reported missing yesterday in the Town of Otsego has been located, state police report.  Belle L. Lord, 89, was found in good condition and is with family.

CATTOWN – The body of a 60-year-old woman missing since March 1 was located behind her home this morning in an area where snow drifts were recently several feet deep, Sheriff Richard J. Devlin Jr. reports.

Deputies were at Margaret R. Thayer’s home on Parslow Road in the hamlet of Cattown, near Fly Creek, rechecking areas that have been previously searched by foot and with the help of K9s, Devlin said.

Foul play is not suspected at this time, the investigation is continuing, according to the sheriff.
