Walton Woman Killed Crossing Unlit Route 23 Struck By Car In Section Where Town, City Plan Safety Measures ONEONTA –  A Walton woman was strucked by car and killed attempting to cross Route 23 near Lettis Highway in Southside Oneonta yesterday afternoon, state police reported today. Oneonta Pedestrian Struck By Car Dies This Evening At Bassett Hospital ONEONTA – Daniel Heath, 76, the pedestrian struck by a car at Main and Chestnut this morning, has died at Bassett Hospital, OPD Lt. Douglas Brenner said a few minutes ago.  Brenner said he was alerted by the family to the elderly man’s passing.
