TRUSTEES REJECT

CONTRACTOR LAW

For Now, Parking Permits Not Required

Painting contractor Steve Eldred must have been pretty convincing before the Cooperstown Village Board this evening. After he and contract John Phillips argued against a paid-parking system that could have cost contractors up to $45 a day, plus a $25 application fee, to parking in front of jobs in the business district, village trustees voted unanimously against the proposal. Mayor Jeff Katz sent the idea back to Trustee Ellen Tillapaugh Kuch's Police Committee for reconsideration. (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
