Oneonta ‘Wants’ Versus ‘Needs’

As someone who had attended the most recent Common Council meeting, I admire Mayor Mark Drnek’s tenacity about having money allocated to improving Damaschke Field and paid parking. However, I would consider these two entities to be under the category of “wants.”

If we had a grocery store like Grand Union where 27 Market Street is located, that could possibly give revenue to the city versus paid parking. I would also suggest that we have a paid parking spot where the Town House motel is located (since nothing is going on there), if it were to be torn down and used for parking space instead so the City of Oneonta could be a walkable city but also a disability-friendly city as well.
