West Canada Valley’s Hanna Burdick three hit Cooperstown to give the Hawkeyes their first loss of the season, 3-2, in a Center State Conference softball game Thursday, June 2, in Newport.

Burdick struck out only five batters, but she got the outs at big times, ending three innings with strikeouts that stranded a total of four Cooperstown baserunners. She walked four and hit one.
