Boston Globe Sportswriter Wins Spink Award

NB_HOF_logoCOOPERSTOWN – Boston Globe sports columnist Dan Shaughnessy, who has been a voice on baseball in New England and nationally for 35 years, has been elected the 2016 winner of the J.G. Taylor Spink Award in balloting by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, the Hall of Fame announced this evening.

The award presented annually to a sportswriter “for meritorious contributions to baseball writing” during Hall of Fame Weekend, July 22-25, in Cooperstown. Shaughnessy will receive the award on Saturday, July 23 at the Awards Presentation at Doubleday Field.
