Hodges Pond Open For Skating

ONEONTA – The City of Oneonta announces that Hodges Pond in Neahwa Park will open for unsupervised public ice skating and non-contact hockey beginning Saturday, Jan. 23, pending sufficient ice depth.

Skating is only allowed when ice conditions are safe and the green flag is posted. There is no skating allowed when the black flag is posted. 

Open ice skating hours of operation: 

• Monday thru Friday – 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 

• Saturday and Sunday – 12:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. 

Non-contact hockey hours of operation: 

• Mondaythru Friday – 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

• Saturday and Sunday – 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Laskaris Skate room will be available to the public when staffing of a facility monitor allows. Skating is allowed during hours listed above regardless of whether the skate room is open. 

The city does not offer skate rentals. All non-contact hockey players must use approved equipment including certified helmets and faceguards.

432-7997. Hours may change without notice due to weather, ice conditions and snow removal.
