Was Senate 'Woman Of Distinction'

Angie Nielsen

ONEONTA – Angeline M. Nielsen, 92, a retired school teacher who was named state Senate "Woman of Distinction" in 2007, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019, at Chestnut Park Rehab & Nursing Center.

She was born on June 5, 1926, in Oneonta, the daughter of Carmen and Mary Anna (Volpe) Joy.

Angeline retired from the Oneonta City School District as an elementary school teacher, and then sold real estate for the Benson Agency.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Rosary Society, and was active in the Republican Party. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Oneonta Country Club.
