 Risk Pays Off:  It Doesn’t

Rain On CCS Graduation

At times this morning, it poured, but CCS seniors who gathered at the high school at noon decided they would risk the rain and to go ahead with traditional commencement exercises on The Fenimore Art Museum lawn. It paid off: Despite threatening clouds, not a drop was felt during the 90-minute event. Highpoints includes, at left, Patrick Dewey, son of John and Jeanne Dewey, graduating with honors. Math teacher Nick Marcantonio helps him down the ramp. Top right, at what will be his last graduation as CCS school board president, Dr. David Borgstrom, present a diploma to Jolie Gagnon. A Bassett surgeon, he has accepted a position in West Virginia. Middle right, Cedric Mayoka, 2, ran up on stage during the top four students' presentations, and was retrieved by grandmom Rosemary Furland, Milford. Cedric is the godson of graduate Gabriella Furlan. At right are top grads Elizabeth Russo, who is going to Notres Dame on an ROTC scholarship, and Jacob Russell, who is going to Harvard.
