2-Car Collision Ties Up

Rte. 28 At Cooperstown

At this hour, Cooperstown firefighters and emergency personnel are at the scene of a two-car collision on Route 28 (Glen Avenue), just north of the Leatherstocking Federal Credit Union. Details were few, but at least two people were being treated at the scene. Southbound traffic from Fly Creek and northbound from the village is being diverted at this time. Grand Union set for Hartwick Seminary after FTC OKs Price Chopper/Tops merger Last year’s merger putting competing grocers Price Chopper and Tops under a single parent company left local shoppers wondering the fate of branded stores in Otsego County. As a condition of approving the merger, the Federal Trade Commission required proposed parent company Northeast Grocery to divest its interest in a dozen stores — among them the Tops Market on Route 28 in Hartwick Seminary.
