An artist's rendering of the expanded Clark Sports Center, now under construction, was released yesterday, the 125th anniversary of the Feb. 10, 1891, opening of the Alfred Corning Clark Gymnasium.  The addition is due for completion this fall.  The view is from the southwest, from behind the current building.

COOPERSTOWN – On Feb. 10, 1891, the first Alfred Corning Clark Gymnasium opened in Cooperstown, 125 years ago as of yesterday.

As the Clark Sports Center, it opened in new quarters on Susquehanna Avenue in 1986 and, as the anniversary passes, a major addition is under construction, with completion scheduled for this fall.
