At this hour, Dr. Rebecca Gorney, a DEC expert,, is briefing the Otsego County Water Quality Coordinating Committee and concerned local people about an algae bloom that appeared in Gilbert Lake, causing the Oneonta Family Y’s Swim-a-thon cancellation last Saturday and limiting swimming there.  For details, read interview with Dr. Gorney in this week’s Hometown Oneonta and The Freeman’s Journal, on newsstands this afternoon.  (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
