Memorial-Brick Patio Laid

At Cooperstown UM Church

the-terraceScott Hubner, the excavating contractor from Fly Creek, and Merrilyn O’Connell of First United Methodist Church, Cooperstown, review plans as work got underway yesterday for The Terrace, a 20-by-32-foot patio of memorial bricks being installed in front of the church at Chestnut St. and Glen Avenue.  “The brick walkway was inspired by the discovery of leftover original bridge from the 1904 church building construction,” according to a pamphlet describing the project and alerting people to the memorial-brick opportunity.  Engraved bricks may be purchased for $100 or $200.  In addition to Hubner, the patio is being built by Fred Wyckoff & Sons, Cooperstown.  It was designed by Templeton Landscape Architecture.  (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
