As Oneonta began to absorb the loss of Christopher’s Restaurant and its Adirondack-style décor, including Kevin Costner’s jacket from “Dances With Wolves,” a new entry came – seemingly out of nowhere – into the political picture. Sue Sullivan completed high school in Cooperstown after her parents bought the Mount Otsego ski slope in 1980. The niece of SUNY Oneonta’s retired librarian, Janet Potter, and former Hartwick Town Supervisor Mary Balcom, she pursued a career in hospital administration in the Hudson Valley and is now one of a half-dozen Democrats interested in challenge U.S. Rep. John Faso, R-19, in November 2018.  Also, “Big Chuck’s” latest and much more in this week’s Hometown Oneontas and Freeman’s Journals, on the newsstands this afternoon.
