In Renovated Hawkeye Grill,

All Diners View Otsego Lake

Jim Miles, The Otesaga’s general manager, gestures toward the new expanded and renovated Hawkeye Bar & Grill, which reopened for business at noon today after four months of renovations, which moved the bar into the former Templeton Lounge and expanded seating by 20 tables, with a wall of windows facing Otsego Lake. The former bar area was converted to two private dining rooms, The Templeton and The Pioneer, with a “wall of wine,” holding over 1,000 bottles, separating them. Miles reported that the lunch crowd was “complimentary” about the changes, and he expected a strong showing for dinner this evening.    Last evening, Jane Forbes Clark, president of The Leatherstocking Corp., which owns The Otesaga, held a reception for all the contractors.  (Ian Austin/AllOTSEGO.com)
