IN MEMORIAM: Carlene E. Renwick, 73;

Daycare Provider, Springbrook Employee

WESTVILLE – Carlene E. Renwick, 73, born Sept. 12, 1943, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2017, at Focus Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

Carlene was employed for many years as a daycare provider and also gave dedicated care to the residents of Springbrook in Portlandville, an occupation she truly loved.

Notwithstanding her passion as a care provider, Carlene’s family was her greatest love and from it she derived her greatest enjoyment. She was known as “mi-mi” to her grandchildren. She loved to cook, garden, do crosswords, read mysteries, and socialize with family and friends. She also enjoyed basketball (rooting for the New York Knicks) and listening to Billy Joel (“Piano Man” was one of her favorite songs).

Carlene was married to Milton Schidzick, who pre-deceased her, and is survived by her current husband, Everet Renwick.

Carlene is also survived by her four children, Cathy Belrose and her husband Jeff; Carl Schidzick and his wife Tiffany; Ashley Renwick; and Rebecca Renwick and her fiancé Ian Shirm. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Danielle Voght, Jeff Belrose, Jr., Jake Schidzick, Brittany Schidzick, Maxine Schidzick, and Ava Shirm, and her great grandchildren, Lily-Ann Richvalsky, Cheyenne Voght, Jaclyn Belrose, and Laura Schidzick.

As Carlene had requested, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Her family will be hosting a Celebration of her Life at a later date.

Those who wish to do so may make donations in her memory to Springbrook, Office of Fund Development, 105 Campus Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.

Arrangements are under the care of Tillapaugh Funeral Service, Cooperstown.
