Hartwick Graduate Among

20 Killed In Schoharie Crash

Savannah Bursese, Hartwick College ’15, was one of the 20 killed in the tragic car accident on Saturday afternoon in Schoharie.

ONEONTA – The Hartwick College community expressed “profound sadness” today upon learning that one of its own was a victim of the car crash that killed 20 people in the parking lot of the Apple Barrel Country Store on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Savannah Bursese graduated from Hartwick College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Political Science and Business Administration. She was a sister of Phi Sigma Phi and a member of the volleyball team.

According to Karen P. McGrath, VP for Student Experience, counseling services are available on campus, and information about memorial services will be announced in the coming days.

Additionally, a GoFundMe has been set up to assist her family with funeral costs.
