Milford’s Wynn Williams Wins New Speranzi Award

Cheryl Clough/HOMETOWN ONEONTA Milford’s Wynn Williams poses with John “Bert” Speranzi, after being named the 2018 Oneonta Boys & Girls Club Holiday Tournament MVP following the Wildcats 55-34 win over Roxbury in the championship game Friday evening. Prior to the presentation, the Boys & Girls Club renamed the MVP award after Speranzi, who joined the club in 1968 and was a stellar athlete in his youth. Speranzi is a long-time assistant coach at SUNY Oneonta for the women’s softball team.

Rufranos Receive ‘Excellence In Nutrition’ Award

Joe and Shirley Rufrano, D.C., nutrition practitioners at the Southside Health and Wellness Campus received an “Excellence in Nutrition Award” during a reception in Rochester on Nov. 3This award was presented by Standard Process of Western New York, a Joe and Shirley Rufrano, D.C., nutrition practitioners at the Southside Health and Wellness Campus received an “Excellence in Nutrition Award” during a reception in Rochester on Nov. 3 division of Standard Process. Standard Process is a whole food nutrition company that has been around for over 80 years.

The Rufranos have been practicing chiropractors and nutritionists for almost 20 years.

RUNNERS DEFY THE COLD IN YMCA’S FROSTBITE 5K

Ian Austin/HOMETOWN The threat of frostbite didn’t deter Cassie Hymer, Oneonta, from sporting her shorts! Hymer was the first woman to cross the finish line at this year’s Frostbite 5K on Monday, Dec. 31 Doug McCoy, Cooperstown, holds the  ribbon.
