A New Look for the New Season

COOPERSTOWN—A new 100-foot indoor mural is now part of the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, which is open year-round on Saturdays and on Tuesdays from noon to 4 p.m. July through September. Local artist Sasha Glinski, who is a market vendor and also scenic charge artist at The Glimmerglass Festival, painted the entire west wall of the farmers’ market. The mural is funded by a New York State Farmers’ Market Resiliency grant awarded to Otsego 2000, which founded the market in 1991. “This was truly a dream project for me,” Glinski told AllOtsego. “Coming into the market with the mural halfway done and seeing those people break out in big smiles when they point at the wall? I can’t imagine anything better,” Glinski said, thanking fellow painter Rowan Fitzpatrick, wife Reya Mertz, Otsego 2000 Executive Director Ellen Pope, Otsego 2000 Program and Communications Manager Peg Odell, and Jennifer Armstrong, Otsego 2000 finance and operations manager.
