After Questioning Alleged Accomplice,
D.A. May Lower Renert Charge, OD Says
It no longer appears that an employee fired from a sport memorabilia shop in Cooperstown was planning to kill his former boss after all, and District Attorney John Muehl may lower the charge against him, the Utica Observer-Dispatch is reporting today.
Although Barry Renert, 62, of Florida, has been charged with attempted murder, prosecutors now say the recent arrest of his accomplice has shed new light on the circumstances surrounding what happened Dec. 23 inside the Seventh Inning Stretch store.
