‘America 250’ Interest Meeting Is Wednesday

ONEONTA—Oneonta’s America 250 committee will hold a general interest meeting for residents to learn and discuss plans for local celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in the top floor meeting room of Huntington Memorial Library. It will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29.

More than a dozen Oneonta residents sit on the planning committee, which has drafted a plan of events to be held from January to Labor Day, with signature events in July. Hill City Celebrations will continue to run the traditional Hometown Fourth celebrations on Saturday, July 4.

The America 250 Committee will hold major events on Friday and Sunday, July 3 and 5 at the Swart-Wilcox House Museum and Huntington Park, respectively.
