IN MEMORIAM: Angelina Schlesier, Hartwick
HARTWICK – Mrs. Angelina S. Schlesier, 81, of Hartwick, died unexpectedly Monday night, Jan. 9, 2017, at her home.
She was born Aug. 18, 1935, on Long Island in Wyadanch, one of 12 children of Guido and Lucy (Albano) Cioffi.
A graduate of Huntington High School, she was employed briefly as the manager of Conservative Gas Co. in Wyandanch
On June 2, 1957, Angie married Anthony G. Schlesier in a ceremony at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Mission Chapel in Wyandanch.
For the past nearly 50 years, Angie and Tony lived in Hartwick on a farm they purchased from Jim and Louise Renwick.
Angie is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Tony, of Hartwick; their four daughters, Elizabeth Flaska (Scott) of Albany, Lucy Dubray (Robert) of Ossening, Theresa Davis (Gary) of Camp Verdi, AZ and Hartwick, and Mary DeNike (Chris) of Hartwick; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
She is further survived by one sister, Bridget of Cape Coral, FL; three brothers, Ralph (Connie) Cioffi of Farmingdale, Louis Cioffi (Claudia) of Cape Coral, FL, and Nicholas Cioffi (Patricia) of Cape Coral, FL; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Cioffi of Calverton and Eve Cioffi of Cape Coral, FL; and many, many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Susan Muller, Camilla Stubinger and Madleine Hisbach, and four brothers, Frank, Guido (“Guy”), Robert and William (“Butchie”) Cioffi.
Friends may call at the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown on Saturday, January 14, 2017, from 3-5 p.m., when Angie’s family will be in attendance.
A Prayer Service will conclude the visitation at 5 p.m., with daughter Elizabeth Schlesier-Flaska, Pastoral Associate for Faith Formation at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Loudonville, officiating.
A private Service of Committal and Burial will be at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville at a later date.
