IN MEMORIAM: Bruce Scofield, Schenevus;

Enjoyed Active Retirement After GE Career

Bruce Scofield

SCHENEVUS – Bruce Charles Scofield, 67, a 38-year employee of General Electric, passed away at home with his family by his side on Nov. 19, 2017.

Bruce was born Oct. 11, 1950, in Cooperstown, the son of Charles D. and Isabel R. (Davis) Scofield.

He was a life-long resident of Schenevus, graduating from Andrew S. Draper Central School.

Bruce married Sharon Kersmanc on Aug. 11, 1979, in Worcester.

Commuting to Schenectady, he worked in both GE’s fire department and security.  At home, he was a member of the C.H. Graham Hose Co. for 49 years and of the Family Motor Coach Association.

In retirement, he enjoyed spending the winter months in Palm View Gardens, Zephyrhills, Fla.  He also enjoyed traveling in his motor home, RV adventures with family and friends, and riding his motorcycle.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Sharon Scofield; his children, Michelle (Edwin) Munoz of California, Mark Scofield, Jeffrey Scofield, both of New York and Kimberly (Todd) Willis of Michigan; grandchildren, Luke (Heather) LaBare, Noah LaBare, Riley Scofield, Isabella Munoz, and Sawyer Scofield; his father, Charles Scofield; his sisters, Barbara (Tim) Green, Beverly (Kirk) Stropes, and Branda (Gene) Tessitore; Aunt, Roberta (Donald) Colley; mother-in-law, Florence Kersmanc; brothers-in-law, Tom, Ken, Mark (Jane) and Edward Kersmanc; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his mother, Isabel Scofield; father-in-law, Frank Kersmanc, Jr; and his first wife, Barbara Dulkis.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home, with Kaye Freling officiating.

Interment will follow at the Schenevus Cemetery.
