Empire Carousel Creator Here For 10th Anniversary Gerry Holzman of Islip, L.I., reunes this afternoon with Freddie de Frogge, his favorite carving on The Farmers’ Museum’s Empire State Carousel in Cooperstown.  Holzman, who pursued the carousel’s creation for 20th years, then negotiated its move to Cooperstown, is back for the 10th anniversary of its installation here, to be commemorated with a ceremony at noon Saturday at the carousel.  Additionally, Holzman will be giving tours at 11 a.m., and 1, 2,…

Madison County Educator Leads BOCES Serving Western Otsego NORWICH – DCMO BOCES today announced the selection of Perry T. Dewey III, Madison Central School superintendent, as superintendent after a seven-month search. He succeeds William Tammaro, who retired in April 2015. While based in Chenango County, that BOCES serves Gilbertsville-Mount Upton and Unadilla Valley central school districts, which include parts of Otsego County, as well as Sidney.  His Otsego County counterpart is ONC BOCES Superintendent Nick Savin.…
