IN MEMORIAM: Connie Quackenbush, 80;

1957 OHS Graduate Worked At Fox Hospital

ONEONTA – Constance “Connie” Quackenbush, 80, passed away Jan. 22, 2020, at Bassett Hospital.

She graduated from Oneonta High School in 1957 and was formerly employed at Fox Hospital.

Connie was predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Ruth Simmons; husband, Norman Quackenbush; sons, Bill Oakley and Curtis Quackenbush; sister, Glenda Yager and brother, Wayne Simmons.

She is survived by her grandson, Stephen Oakley and brother, Ronald (Jacqueline) Simmons.

Calling hours will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 10, 2020 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home.

A graveside service at the Maryland Cemetery will be at a later date.

WEST ONEONTA—Olin L. Benedict Jr. of West Oneonta passed away after a short illness at his home, with his loving wife by his side, on December 11, 2023. Olin was born March 16, 1952 to Elnora (Griggs) Benedict and Olin L. Benedict Sr. of Middletown. He worked at the “Times Herald Record” before relocating to work at “The Daily Star” and retiring there in 2011. He continued to work for Covidian, Bassett Hospital and Fox Hospital until he fully retired.…
