Housing, U.S. Rep. Says

Rep. Antonio Delgado,NY-19, was one of the featured speakers at “Living with Dignity & the Crisis of Poverty in Otsego & Delaware Counties,” held at the Foothills Performing Arts Center this afternoon. “We have the highest level of inequality in the country…the working poor is the fastest growing class in America today…and we are dead last in labor mobility.” The event was organized and moderated by Jeri Wachter, executive producer of filmmaker Joe Stillman’s “Faces of Rural Poverty.” Sitting at the table are speakers Dr. Karen Joest, professor of Child and Family Studies at SUNY Oneonta, JoAnne Bragonier, Program Manager for Catholic Charities Housing Oneonta, Timothy Peters, Executive Director of Otsego Rural Housing Assistance, Inc. and City of Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig. Piper Seamon 5th CCS Girl To Hit High Mark The Cooperstown Central student section erupts as Piper Seamon scores her 1,000th career point in the Hawkeyes’ 57-39 win over Waterville at home last evening.
