IN MEMORIAM: Dennis ‘Shorty’ Kearney, 62;

Marine Worked With Cars, Owned Race Car

Dennis “Shorty” Kearney

ONEONTA – Dennis James “Shorty” Kearney, 62, a Marine who loved cars, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017.

He is also survived by family friends, Rose Millias and Steve Kelly; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins, and loyal friends. His love of family and friends knew no bounds.

He was predeceased by his parents; his uncle, Orris “Pudge” Root, and his aunt, Daphna Crain.

Calling hours are 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta, during which time his family will receive guests.

Shorty will be laid to rest in the Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta, following a graveside memorial service with military honors at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 16, with the Rev. Judith Thistle, officiating.
