Divers Remove Lake Buoys,

Declaring 2020 Season Over

The Biological Field Station’s Volunteer Dive Team removed Otsego Lake’s navigation buoys over the weekend, marking the end of the 2020 season, according to Paul Lord, who leads the team. The no-wake zone buoys at Springfield Landing and Cooperstown’s Lakefront Park were swapped for winter spar buoys on Saturday. The divers had to deal with ice along both shorelines.  They included Lee Ferrara, David Turner, Sarah Coney, Jim Vogler and Tasha Youngs. The tenders were Wayne Bunn, Kiyoko Yokota and Tim Moore.  (Paul Lord photo)
