An UIster County Republican has filed an ethics complaint against U.S. Rep. Antonio Delgado, D-19, saying he violated House rules by using footage from his Town Hall meetings in a campaign ad broadcast this month, the Times Union has been reporting over the weekend.

In his complaint, R. Bruce McLean of Kingston said the congressman used video footage of Town Halls paid for by official congressional funds in TV and social media ads, the newspaper reported.

According to the report, the House has rules requiring congressional funds only be used for official purposes, but in some instances campaign staff may be permitted to shoot photos and videos at official events. Social media and other promotions of campaign events are supposed to be strictly distinct.

  1. Oh here we go. Republican’s have nothing else to complain about so let’s attack the Democrat on a Town Hall video, while they steal and lie. What a joke they have become.
