Golf Tourney Will Benefit Veterans, First Responders

SPRINGFIELD—Golfers will hit the greens next month for the annual Chilidipper Benefit Golf Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, September 26 at Otsego Golf Club.

According to a press release, this year’s tournament features a competitive two-person scramble format stretched over a 27-hole layout. Teams will compete for a massive prize pool, organizers said, with more than $1,500.00 in cash prizes up for grabs alongside various on-course contests. Registration is $100.00 per golfer and includes 27 holes of golf, cart access, and lunch.

All proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit Otsego County Wild Hogs Inc., a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing outdoor trips, hunting excursions, and community support for veterans, active-duty military, and first responders.

“The Chilidipper is more than just a great day of competitive golf on a historic course,” said Brian Pokorny, president of the Otsego County Wild Hogs Inc. “It is a vital opportunity for our community to come together, honor our local heroes, and directly fund the outdoor trips and programs that help our veterans and first responders heal and reconnect.”

Registration is currently open for two-person teams. Local businesses are also invited to participate through various sponsorship opportunities, including tee signs, lunch sponsorships and prize donations.
