Harvest Fest Evokes 19th Century

– Complete With Suffragette Protest

The Farmers' Museum's annual Harvest Fest was underway today (and continues Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in Cooperstown), evoking autumn in 19th century rural villages, from sheared sheep to picking potatoes. A novelty this year was an evocation of the suffragette movement to win the vote for women, courtesy of the museum's Templeton Players and culminating in a demonstration on the Green in front of the Bump Tavern.
