The only Fair in Otsego County in the year 1916 came to an end Friday after five days of genuine enjoyment for all those who attended an attendance fully satisfactory to the management when the circumstances of attending such an exhibition during the present year are considered. The infantile paralysis quarantine regulation, forbidding the presence of children less than sixteen years of age prevented the attendance not only of the children themselves, but also of many parents who could not safely leave the little folks at home alone.
The Pioneer Restaurant opened for regular business yesterday. The proprietors, Messrs. William and Charles Higgins, reported a highly gratifying trade throughout the day. It is well-equipped in every respect for both short order cooking and for the baking of its own foodstuffs, which latter feature has contributed in no small degree to the success of the firm. The service is to be cafeteria style, or self-serving, now generally adopted in all first class places of its kind.
