3 From Otsego Appointed To Family Planning Board

Gretchen Hodgdon, M.D, Tim Parsons and Jeanne Payne, MSN, MBA, CNS have been named to the 2019 Board of Directors for Family Planning of South Central New York.
The local, independent nonprofit organization provides high quality, affordable reproductive health care and sexuality education in Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Otsego counties.
All medical care at the agency’s five local health centers — Binghamton, Norwich, Oneonta, Sidney and Walton — is overseen by a Board Certified Gynecologist. Medical services may be free or on a sliding fee scale.
Each of the newly elected directors will serve a three-year term. In addition to Hodgdon, Parsons and Payne, they are:
• Rebecca Leidy, R.N. (Delaware)
• Greg Rittenhouse (Broome)
• Rev. Dr. Arthur Suggs (Broome)
• Theresa Davis, M.P.A. (Chenango)

 

Mom Jasmine, Puppies Find Foster Home In Davenport

Ian Austin/HOMETOWN ONEONTA – Jasmine, who gave birth to a litter of puppies at the Susquehanna SPCA last week, has found a foster home with Jeni Metch and her family. Sons Colton and Wyatt named the puppies – three boys, Cocoa, (pictured) Reese and Ruger, and girl, Ruby. Though Jasmine gave birth to six puppies last Tuesday, two of them died at just a few days old, according to Stacie Haynes, SSPCA executive director, but the four surviving are healthy.

Romance Novelist Plans Signing Of Third Book

ONEONTA – Amanda T. Fox, author of “Frosty Nights” and “Fierce Wind” has released her third book, “Rogue Fate” with Beacon Publishing Group.
The novel follows Lydia Jones, who is tasked with making the choice of life and death over mortals. But when she meets Luke Rogue, he chips away at her resolve while chaos reigns all around them.
Amanda is also a stay at home mom of two. She is a graduate of Mercy College, with a Bachelor’s Degree with honors in English with a concentration on writing.
Fox will discuss “Rogue Fate,” her writing process and sign copies of her books at 2 p.m. Saturday March 2 at the Green Toad Bookstore, 198 Main St, Oneonta.

 

 

 

6 Oneonta-Area Students On Dean’s List at SUNY Oswego

Cayce C. Breitmaier, a senior accounting major from Oneonta, was one of six local students named to SUNY Oswego’s Dean’s List for the Fall 2018 semester.
Also on the list were
• Peter J. Wendler, Morris, a junior broadcasting and mass communication major
• Mackenzie M. VanHorn, Oneonta, a sophomore theatre major
• Martha Modinger, Otego, a freshman zoology major
• Chelsea R. Hunter, Schenevus, a junior human development major
• Austin C. Stockert, Unadilla, a sophomore wellness management major.
