Corning Retiree Love Hunting, Fishing

James H. Palmer

MARYLAND – James H. Palmer, 72, a Corning retiree, passed away Oct. 1, 2019, at home, surrounded by family and his beloved wife of 54 years.

James was born Jan. 23, 1947 in Delhi, the son of Robert C. and Glenna (Baker) Palmer.

James retired from Corning after many years of service, where he became great friends with Bob and Linda Adams.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed his time in nature with his collection of exotic birds.  James and his wife took many family vacations and was passionate about traveling and music.  James was a member of the Robert Riddell Hunting Club.

James is survived by his wife, Janet (Couse) Palmer; his two children, Wendy (Palmer) and Jerry Berba of Kissimmee, Fla.., Jim and Jessica (Barrett) Palmer, Town of Maryland ; also his grandchildren, Nicholas, Tasha, Briana, Brittney, Katie and Katrina; great-grandchildren, Mason, Landon, Bentley, and Noel (baby doll); brother, Dan Palmer of Oregon and sisters, Janice Button of Florida and Joanne Fink of Norwich.

James requested no memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catskill Area Hospice.
