IN MEMORIAM: Janet K. Talbot, 65;

CFO At House Of The Good Shepherd

PLAINFIELD – Janet Kay Johnson Talbot, 64, retired CFO at the House of the Good Shepherd, Utica, passed away peacefully with her family beside her on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019,at MVHS Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in New Hartford.

Janet was born on May 17, 1955, in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Elmer and Katharine (Oliver) Johnson. On Oct. 1, 1977 she married the love of her life, David Talbot, and enjoyed many years of blessed matrimony.

She was raised in Richfield Springs and was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School, Class of ’73. She received a bachelor’s in accounting from SUNY College of Technology, and was employed by The House of the Good Shepherd in Utica for 33 years.  She retired her position there as the Chief Financial Officer in the fall of 2018. She loved the career she made for herself there.

Her greatest pleasures were spending time with her family and riding motorcycle with her husband.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, David Talbot; daughter, Angella (Brian) Lynch; grandchildren, Ashley (Bobby), Kyle, Gabrielle, Jase and Seth; great-grandchildren, Camryn, Corbin, Adasyn and Elijah; brother, Keith (Susan) Johnson and her uncle Walter Johnson and Doris Kilbourn. She also leaves behind several beloved cousins and dear friends. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her in-laws, Robert and Nellie Talbot. 

Family and friends are invited to a graveside funeral service on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 12 noon at Unadilla Forks Cemetery on Forks Road in West Winfield with Pastor John W. Buddle, officiating.

Janet’s family has entrusted her care to the Johnston Funeral Home in Morris, NY.
