IN MEMORIAM: Kathryn H. Neske, 78;

She, Husband Owned Schenevus Hotel

Kathryn Neske

SCHENEVUS – Kathryn H. Neske, 78, who owned and operated the Schenevus Hotel with husband Paul for many years, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Fox Hospital.

Kathryn was born on Oct.18, 1938, in The Bronx, the daughter of the late Francis T. and Louise Ferdinand Weinheimer. In 1955, she met the love of her life, Paul Neske whom she married Aug. 24, 1957.  In 1969, they moved to Schenevus, where Kathryn operated a daycare in her home. Over the years, she cared for over 100 children, and loved every one of them.

Kathryn was active with Catholic Charities, as well as the Schenevus Methodist Church. She and Paul loved traveling with their R.V.  Together they spent 38 years traveling the country, and the last 11 as residents of Belvedere Lake Campgrounds. She was also a life long New York Yankees fan, who rarely missed a game.

She is survived by her husband Paul K. Neske of Schenevus; sons, Paul T. Neske Sr. (April), Town of Maryland, and David Neske (Anne) of Oneonta; a daughter Lisa Pindar (Steve) of Oneonta; a sister Madelyn Milliken (Patrick) of Oak Ridge, N.J.; grandchildren, CaryAnn Quay,  Erin Neske, Paul Neske Jr,  Jillian Eastman, Joshua Rumenapp, Christopher Pindar, Katrina Torres, Juliana Fairbairn, and Veronica Pfeiffer. Also, seven great-grandchildren, niece and nephew Scott and  Kelly Milliken, and close cousins Jay and Roseanne Perkowsky of Midland Park, N.J., and their children Donna and Tracey Perkowsky.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday Jan. 28, at the Elm Park United Methodist Church, Oneonta, with Rev. Donna Martin officiating. Calling hours will be 1-2 p.m. prior to services. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Coaches VS Cancer at  www.coachesvscancer.org in loving memory of Kathryn. Arrangements are by the Delker & Terry Funeral Home Edmeston.
