‘Luther’ Film Screened Sunday

As Reformation’s 500th Nears

ONEONTA – This coming Tuesday is the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s posting of his 95th theses on the door of the Cathedral at Wittenburg, launching the Protest reformation.

At 5 p.m. Sunday, the 2003 movie, “Luther,” starring Joseph Fiennes, will be screened at St. James Episcopal Church, Main and Elm, Oneonta.  A panel discussion, featuring The Rev. Paul Messner of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement, St. James Rector Ken Hunter, and Father David Mickiewicz, pastor, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, will follow.  The movie is free and open to the public.
