IN MEMORIAM: Madeline Steiner, 92; Sold Real Estate

OTEGO – Madeline Rometta Steiner, 92, who sold real estate for 25 years with her husband Roger, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday at Fox Nursing Home.

She was born in Prattsville on July 10, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Grace (Brandow) Fredenburgh. On July 10, 1940, on her 18th birthday, Madeline married Roger Steiner on her family’s farm in Prattsville. They celebrated 62 years together until Roger’s passing in May of 2003.

Madeline and Roger worked together for over 25 years selling real estate, initially with Strout Realty. She then became a real estate agent when he founded Roger Steiner Real Estate.

At the request of Madeline’s family, there will be no services scheduled at this time.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that a contribution be made in her memory to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.
