IN MEMORIAM: Marie Wayman, 67;

Husband, 4 Children, Mother Survive

STAMFORD – Oneonta native Marie Ellen Wayman, 67, of Stamford, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at Fox Hospital.

She was born April 14, 1950, the daughter of George F. and Shirley (Brush) Spencer.  Marie graduated from Oneonta High School, Class of 1968.

On Aug. 12, 1995, Marie married her long-time love, Richard D. Wayman, in Windham.

She enjoyed many things like reading, crafts, bingo, animals especially her Poms and Chihuahuas. But most of all, Marie loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Richard D. Wayman, Hobart, she is survived by her mother, Shirley Spencer, Oneonta; son Mike Fitch and partner, Debbie Whitehead, Oneonta; daughter Shelley L. and husband, Phillip S. Adams, Oneonta; daughter Ellie and husband Steve Curless, Stamford; son Donald Wayman, Hobart; eight grandchildren; three great-granddaughters, and foster brother Gary Emrich, Oneonta. She was predeceased by her father, George F. Spencer.

Calling hours will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta, with funeral services immediately following at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Waylen Bray of the Stamford Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Stamford Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820 in loving memory of Marie Ellen Wayman.
