IN MEMORIAM: Marjorie C. Lasher, 83;

Nurse’s Aide, New Lisbon Tax Collector

GARRATTSVILLE – Marjorie C. Lasher, 83, a retired nurse’s aide who was active in Garrattsville civic life, passed away Thursday April 6, 2017, at Focus Rehabilitation and Nursing at Otsego.

Marjorie was born in New Lisbon, the daughter of the late Stewart and Alice Eldred Card. She spent her adult life in Garrattsville after marrying Ralph H. Lasher on June 10, 1959, on the family farm.

She is survived by two sons, Victor (Nadine) Lasher and Willard “Grady” (Robin) Lasher, both of Garrattsville; sister Marie Holt of New Lisbon; four grandchildren, Alicia Lasher and Victor Jones of Hartwick, and Nicholas Lasher, Allison Lasher and Michaela Lasher all of Garrattsville.  Also, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband in 2001, and her brother Harold B. Card.

Marjorie was a nurse’s aide at the Chase Nursing Home in New Berlin for many years until her retirement. In addition, she acted as the New Lisbon town tax collector, and caretaker for the community center. She was also active in the Garrattsville Presbyterian Church, the Garrattsville Fire Department Auxiliary, the Garrattsville Women’s Club, and also sat on the Lena Cemetery Association Board.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 10, at the Delker & Terry Funeral Home, 30 South St. Edmeston, with Rev. Mark Piedmonte officiating. Interment will be in Hillington Cemetery, Morris.

Calling hours will be noon-2 p.m. prior to the service.
