Mayor Herzig Files for 2nd Term,

But Independent Still Plans Run

ONEONTA – Mayor Gary Herzig was the only candidate to file papers by yesterday to appear on a party line on the Nov. 7 ballot.

However, he may still be opposed:  Don Scanlon, Hometown Deli proprietor, still has time to circulation petitions to run as an independent, and said this afternoon he intends to do so.

Herzig, a Democrat seeking a second term, will be the only candidate on a party line.
